Terms of Service
Effective November 3, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and The Tax Pipe, LLC (“TaxPipe,” “we,” “us”) for taxpipe.io, the TaxPipe software, and the text messages, calls and emails sent through it (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a business, you agree for that business too.
1. The Service
TaxPipe is software for tax preparation offices (“Offices”) to manage clients, documents, e-signatures, appointments, texts, calls and filing and refund status. Accounts are by invitation. TaxPipe is a tool: it does not give tax, legal or financial advice, and each Office is responsible for the returns it prepares and the advice it gives.
2. Accounts and security
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate information.
- Every account uses two-step verification. Keep your password and sign-in codes private, and do not share your account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at team@taxpipe.io if you think it was used without permission.
3. Offices’ responsibilities
Each Office using TaxPipe agrees to:
- Follow all laws that apply to it, including IRS rules for tax preparers, Section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the FTC Safeguards Rule, and state privacy and data-security laws.
- Text and call only people who gave the consent the law requires (including under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act), keep records of that consent, honor every opt-out, and send texts only about the topics registered for its number.
- Tell callers when a call is recorded and get any consent the law requires before recording.
- Give its clients its own privacy notice, and get any taxpayer consents its use of tax return information requires.
- Give accurate business details for its phone number and texting registration, exactly as the IRS has them.
- Pay the phone and texting charges for its own number (such as registration, number and usage fees) as agreed with TaxPipe.
4. Text messaging (SMS) and opt-in
By giving us your mobile number and agreeing to receive texts, you agree to receive TaxPipe Alerts: text messages from TaxPipe and the tax offices that use TaxPipe with important updates and notifications about your account, your tax return and our services. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
- Message frequency may vary.
- Message and data rates may apply, based on your mobile plan.
- To opt out, reply STOP to the number you got TaxPipe Alerts from, call (954) 289-9693 or email team@taxpipe.io.
- For help, reply HELP or contact us at the same phone number or email.
For how we handle your information, including that information gathered in the SMS campaign is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, including identity theft or false tax filings.
- Send spam, marketing texts without consent, or content that is harassing, hateful, sexual, or about prohibited topics (such as cannabis, firearms, gambling, high-risk loans or debt relief).
- Upload malware, probe or break the Service’s security, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
6. Your data
Offices own the information they and their clients put into TaxPipe. You give TaxPipe permission to host, process and transmit that information only to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to give us that information.
7. Fees
Fees for the Service are set in each Office’s order or agreement with TaxPipe. Phone and texting charges for an Office’s own number are the Office’s responsibility. Unpaid amounts may lead to the Service being paused.
8. Other services
The Service relies on providers such as Twilio (texts and calls), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (email). Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms may apply to some features.
9. Our rights
TaxPipe and its software, design and content belong to The Tax Pipe, LLC. We give you a limited, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. Feedback you give us may be used without any obligation to you.
10. Ending the Service
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are broken, if required by law, or to protect the Service or others. When an Office’s account ends, we will help it export its data on request, and then delete or keep data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, TAXPIPE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND DOES NOT PROMISE THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY TEXT OR CALL WILL BE DELIVERED.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, TAXPIPE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE OR DATA. TAXPIPE’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TAXPIPE FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $100 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold harmless The Tax Pipe, LLC and its owners and staff from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that come from your misuse of the Service, your breaking these Terms or the law, or texts and calls you send without the required consent.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any claim that is not resolved will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and TaxPipe agree to those courts’ jurisdiction.
15. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and tell account holders about important changes; using the Service after that means you accept them. If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and any Office agreement, are the whole agreement about the Service.
